What about talk for the Splinterlands Open Tournament?

As previously announced, we are creating two new Splinterlands Open tournaments, one for the public and one for Splinterfest attendees. For those we were in attendance at Splinterfest, we will be reaching out to the emails you used as an attendee to take a poll of dates and times that players vote on for suggested tournament details. For those who weren’t in attendence, don’t worry! We are happy to announce our very first Splinterlands Open tournament for ALL PLAYERS! It will be taking place on October 28th at 3pm EDT, and will be a Gold League Modern event. As mentioned previously, this tournament will be a KYC required event, so sign up now to test this brand new tournament format for yourself! A link to the tournament can be found HERE ->Ā https://splinterlands.com/?p=tournament&id=a9cceda6e3921f65baef72a14a9e66cd8d28c534

No need to sign up for the tournament! Just by purchasing a ticket to Splinterfest, you are entered to compete in both the Gold League and the Champion League tournaments! Day 1 is completely online, and the Top 16 qualifiers for both tournaments will be asked to report to the Tournaments Green Room at 5pm on Saturday for further instructions for Day 2!

What time should people head over and how will they be notified?

Players should report to the Tournament Green Room at 5pm local time (PST) if they qualify for the Top 16 of each tournament. If a player qualifies for the Top 16 of either tournament, they will be notified over the intercom system in the Arena, and also through on screen display of their In Game Names on the large screens at 5pm PST

What is the tournament structure and style?

Day 1 of the tournaments are regular pool play, the same style of competition as tournament enjoyers are used to competing in through our regular Splinterlands tournaments. Day 2 will see a bracketed tournament, single elimination style showdown that features Best of 3 for Top 16, Quarterfinals, Semi finals, and then a Best of 5 format for the Finals!

Can friends be next to me while I’m playing?

We will not be sequestering players during the pool play rounds, but during the second day of competition, players will be required to report to the Tournament Green Room in order to submit teams featured for prizing battles.

Are people allowed to coach me while I’m playing?

Coaching is allowed EXCEPT when submitting teams for final prizing qualifiers (eg, Day 2 of competition). There are no restrictions on between battle assistance and coaching, but during team selection players will be required to be in the Tournament Green Room and under surveillance of our TO (Tournament Official). No outside communication (assistive tools, digital communication, pre-written notes, and other items deemed to give a competitive edge to specific players) will be allowed during these team selections.
